We are excited to present our inaugural vintage of Greco. Originally hailing from Campania, wait let’s a further look back… This ancient white wine varietal is thought have been in tow when the Greeks colonized Southern Italy. A different kind of gold in the hills! Gently whole-cluster pressed, this wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels, with minimal lees stirring and bottled shortly after harvest to capture its enate freshness. Striking in the glass, its brilliant citrine hue exposes glints of chartreuse at the meniscus. The nose gives way to freshly squeezed lemons, stone fruits like white nectarines and hints of culinary herbs – basil, chervil, and a soupcon of parsley come to mind. Downright tangy on the palate, the Greco has an incredibly bright expression with a zippy freshness that immediately harkens images of lime juice and zest. Upon further pondering, white-petaled flowers like orange blossom and boxwood reveal themselves, imbued with myriad lemon flavors from candied lemon peel to creamy lemon curd. The perfect opening to any meal, possibilities abound!
